[AL171A] RPMI 1640 medium is extensively used for a wide range of anchorage dependant cell lines. The medium is known to support growth of cells both in presence of 5-20% FBS and in absence of FBS. AL171A is modified RPMI-1640 medium supplemented with 2mM L-glutamine, 4.5gms glucose, 10mM HEPES buffer, 1mM sodium pyruvate and sodium bicarbonate. It does not contain phenol red.
