Penicillin and streptomycin are broad spectrum bacteriostatic and bacteriocidal agents effective against gram positive bacteria and gram negative bacteria. The PenStrep solution is a sterile filtered and contains 10,000 Units penicillin and 10mg streptomycin per ml.
