GM-CSF is a monomeric glycoprotein that functions as a cytokine. It is a white blood cell growth factor. Granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) is a hematopoietic growth and differentiation factor that stimulates the development of neutrophils and macrophages, and promotes the proliferation and development of early erythroid megakaryocytic and eosinophilic progenitor cells. It also stimulates growth in some epithelial cells and osteoclasts.
