alpha modification of Minimum Essential Medium Eagle with non-essential amino acids, deoxyribonulceosides and ribonucleosides. It does not contain L-glutamine. The medium was developed to meet the specific nutritional requirements of certain subtypes of Hela cells and normal mammalian fibroblasts.
