Cell Freezing Media – Cryopan
The cryopreservation media guarantees high cell viability following the thawing procedure. With the specially formulated Cryopan I, we offer a highly efficient serum-free freezing medium. Cryopan II, the chemically-defined alternative, consists of an optimized formulation, free from human or animal compounds while maintaining consistent efficiency.
Both products are suitable for the cryopreservation of various adherent and suspension cells, including primary cells and established cell lines.
Freezing Medium Composition: DMSO, Serum or Serum-Free
A cell freezing medium protects cells from damaging ice crystals during freezing and thawing. The key component is the cryoprotectant, usually 10 % DMSO: it enters the cells and prevents ice crystals from forming inside them. The rest of the formulation decides whether the medium contains serum or is serum-free.
- Classic freezing medium: DMEM with fetal bovine serum and DMSO, ready to use.
- Cryopan I: serum-free, with 10 % DMSO.
- Cryopan II: chemically defined and protein-free – salts, sugar, 10 % DMSO and further antifreeze substances, without human or animal components.
- Cryopan III: DMSO-free and chemically defined, without human or animal components; also suitable for tissue samples such as umbilical cord tissue.
For cells grown without serum, a serum-free freezing medium is the natural choice. If you prefer to mix your own medium, DMSO for cell culture is also available separately.
Antibiotics & Antifungals

Select from Amoxicillin, Amphotericin, Ampicillin, Gentamicin, Hygromycin, Kanamycin, Penicillin – Streptomycin, Minocycline, Mycorase, Neomycin, Nystatin, Paneticin, Penicillin, Polymyxin, Streptomycin and Tiamulin in a broad variety of solutions and powders.
